Meet the Field House team

Our dedicated team are loving, experienced, professional and have extensive knowledge in caring for our residents, especially those with Dementia care. We are also equipped to care for those with more complex medical conditions and disabilities. All of our staff members are NVQ qualified at levels 2, 3 and 4, so you can rest assured that your loved one is in safe hands. We always have a combination of skilled staff on duty who support and ensure that every need is catered for.

We have a uniform colour code worn by our staff which depicts their specific job role, and also allows our residents and visitors to easily recognise who they need. Navy uniform is worn by the unit leads, burgundy is for all staff who deliver medications, pale green for care staff, and lilac is worn by the domestic team.

Jane Pye

NEW Manager

“Hello, I am Jane. I am a Nurse RMN who qualified from Queen Elizabeth School of Nursing with a degree in Mental Health, and I am also a Bradford University Dementia Mapper. I have undertaken many courses covering all areas of patient care, including the Leadership in Dementia course with Worcestershire University on two separate occasions to ensure my practise is current.

I am passionate about all areas of patient care and strive to increase the “wellbeing” moments of each and everyone of our residents. We provide a safe, comfortable environment with appropriately trained staff, providing meaningful activities to achieve this goal.”

Terri-Leigh

Coach House and Cottage Unit Lead

“My name is Terri-Leigh, and I work in Coach and Cottage as the Unit Lead, which I very much enjoy! I’m always here for a chat so come and find me, I’m happy to help. I have got levels 3, 4, and 5 in Health and Social Care, have past experience working with people with dementia, and love working in this field.”

Liz Bull

Main House Unit Lead

“I am passionate about delivering good quality care. I have training that allows me to supervise and train staff that work within the team to achieve and maintain those high standards. I am a ROSPA Gold star qualified Manual Handling trainer, so can oversee and guide to ensure our standards are second to none.

I also hold an NVQ Level 3 and Worcestershire Accredited Medication training. I work alongside Jane, the Manager, and my fellow Unit Lead, Terri-Leigh, to ensure we have systems in place that are auditable, measurable, and ensure best practice.”

RoSpa Level Certificate here.

Pirkko Abbots

Chef

“Hello, my name is Pirkko, and I have been the Head Chef at Field House for 27 years this year. I’m originally from Finland, where I studied extensively all matters of agriculture at Paimion Maataloo Opisto. That included two years study, from growing my own range of herbs and crops to butchering poultry, followed by a final year at a prestigious culinary school Vaasan Talous Koulu, and a long career at 4H’s Finnish Young Farmers.

This has all been useful in providing residents with nutritious, wholesome food alongside the occasional sumptuous cream doughnut that has always been a favourite of the residents and the team, which I adore being a part of. I am sure they will agree with myself when I say we have a fantastic new menu and I cannot wait for everyone to try it.”

Lyn Capon

Head of Housekeeping

“Hi, my name is Lyn Capon, and I am the Head Housekeeper here at Field House. I have worked here for over 20 years, and have been in many different roles. My role as Housekeeper is to run a team of laundry and domestic staff. We ensure that the home is clean, tidy, and presentable to a high standard.

All rooms, bedrooms and communal areas are looked after by the domestic team, and I also oversee the laundry, making sure all clothes are washed, ironed, and mended before being put away. We are a friendly and approachable team, and can be found around the home at any time.”

Carol Nightingale

Admin

“Hi, my name is Carol Nightingale, I’m from Shropshire originally but moved to the West Midlands 2 years ago. I started care 25 years ago for a Domiciliary, then went into nursing homes, and really enjoyed working with elderly mentally ill and dementia care. Within this, I gained NVQ level 2 and 3, as well as lots of in-house training, and came to Field House in January 2016 as a care assistant, quickly moved up to senior care, and then applied for the administration position.

I really enjoy working as an administrator, I have gained a lot of knowledge through my job, which involves arranging monthly wages for all staff, ordering stock, food, stationery, cleaning products, applying for staff DBS checks, and maintaining training and staff files.

Since Jane began working here, we have recruited a lot more staff, and the home has become an even more happy and friendly environment to be immersed in.”

Scott Rixon

Head of Garden Maintenance

“I got into gardening from an early age and throughout my life, working on large grounds has become second nature, as my family home was one third of an acre. Most of my knowledge has been learned on the job, and has stood me in good stead for working at Field House.

The research has been enjoyable as this has been involving grounds and gardens, and returning them to historical order, circa 1914. Field House is a very busy, but friendly environment that I enjoy working in.”

Tony Green

Head of House Maintenance

“My name is Anthony Green, and my position at Field House involves the upkeep of the home with regards to general maintenance of electrical fittings, plumbing, decor, and everyday tasks as they arise. Should we require more in-depth servicing, my role is to risk assess and oversee the safe working practices of any designated contractors.

In maintenance we ensure the safety of our residents and staff through carrying out daily, weekly, and monthly checks and drills with regards to heating, lighting, and fire safety. It is my aim in the role to provide as much assistance as required to everyone, team and residents.”
